Cocktail Of The Day and Exciting News!

Cocktail Of The Day- because it’s always cocktail hour somewhere in the world! And speaking of cocktails, we here at Two For The Bar have some very exciting news to share. TFTB has been selected as a finalist in the first annual Cucina Blog Awards in the category of Best Wine and Spirits blog. I’m such a huge fan of so many of the nominees across all categories including My Name is Yeh (Best Pastry Blog), Betty Liu (Best Photography), Lab Noon (Best Social Blog), What Should I Eat For Breakfast (Best Photography) and Punch (Best Wine and Spirits). It’s really an honour to be named among them. If you care to throw a vote our way or support some of the other amazing writers and photographers that have been nominated, check out the link here. Now let’s have a celebratory drink, shall we?

The French 75 was something I drank often during the early days of my foray into the world of craft cocktails. It remains one of my most favourites and is the perfect celebratory sip. This riff adds a bit of Blood Orange for a colourful play on the classic.

Recipe

1 oz Gin
1 oz Simple Syrup
1 oz Lemon Juice
Blood orange soda.

Mix the first three ingredients over ice. Double strain into a champagne flute and top with blood orange soda. Garnish with the prettiest flowers you can find!
