Cocktail Of The Day (because it’s always cocktail hour somewhere in the world). This Friday, bartenders from across Canada will be descending on Miami for the Bacardi Legacy national finals. The winner will go on to compete on the global stage in Berlin.
I am so excited to share a cocktail created by Fairmont Pacific Rim barman Sean McGuigan who will be heading south on a wild card win with his cocktail- The Compass. Drawing inspiration from the life and legacy of Facundo Bacardi Masso, McGuigan marries a symphony of complex flavours including sherry, coffee and amaro to create a rich yet refined cocktail.
The Compass:
50 ml Bacardi Ocho
15 ml Lustau East India Solera Sherry
10 ml Ramazotti Amaro
10 ml Cold Brew Coffee
2 Dashes Orange Bitters
Stir all ingredients over ice and strain into a coupe. Garnish with a star anise pod.
